Since beginning her practice in 2008, Dorothy has completed numerous advanced trainings and is currently pursuing certification as an EMDR consultant. She feels honored to support clients and supervisees in connecting with their inner wisdom and guide. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this workshop for?
The Hold Me Tight® workshop is for couples who want to strengthen their emotional bond, improve communication, and feel more connected in their relationship. It’s ideal for partners navigating stress, disconnection, or repeating patterns of conflict, whether you’ve been together for years or are in a newer relationship. This workshop is also a great fit for couples who may be in therapy and want to deepen their work, or for those looking for a meaningful way to reconnect without committing to long-term sessions. If you’re ready to better understand each other and build a more secure, loving relationship, this workshop is for you.
How is this workshop different from couples therapy?
The Hold Me Tight® workshop and couples therapy both aim to strengthen relationships, but they differ in format and focus. Couples therapy is an ongoing, personalized process tailored to each couple’s unique needs, offering deep, long-term support. In contrast, the Hold Me Tight® workshop is a structured, time-limited experience that guides couples through key EFT concepts and conversations in a concentrated format. It blends brief group learning with private couple exercises, making it ideal for those seeking a jumpstart, supplemental support, or a more time-efficient way to reconnect.
What do workshop sessions look like?
This workshop is designed for couples and includes both group and private components. Each session is structured to balance learning, reflection, and private connection time. We begin as a group, where couples are introduced to key relationship concepts through short talks, engaging videos, and guided reflections. These group segments are focused on education. The group setting is primarily used for teaching relationship concepts, watching educational videos, discussing the materials, and introducing skills that couples will later practice on their own.
After each group segment, couples break out into their own private space to have guided conversations using prompts and tools provided during the session. This is where the heart of the work happens—partners talk openly, reflect together, and begin to shift their emotional patterns. Facilitators are available during this time to check in, offer support, and help deepen the conversations if needed.
The sessions are paced thoughtfully, with regular breaks, and each builds upon the last. By the end of the workshop, couples often report feeling more emotionally connected, seen, and supported in their relationship.
Do we have to share personal information with the group?
No. While the workshop includes some group learning, all couple conversations happen privately. Each couple will have their own private space for these guided conversations, giving you the opportunity to reflect and connect without an audience. During these breakout sessions, facilitators will be available to check in with each couple individually to offer support. While we do gather as a group and participants are encouraged to share and discuss, no participant is ever required to share personal or sensitive details in front of others. The workshop is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of ten couples, to ensure a more personalized and supportive experience. Your privacy and confidentiality are our utmost priority.

What are the seven conversations in Hold Me Tight® program?
- Recognizing Demon Dialogues – In this opening conversation, couples identify the hurtful and negative patterns that often lead to misunderstandings, helping them uncover the deeper emotions and needs behind what they’re really trying to say.
- Finding the Raw Spots – Partners learn to move beyond reactive responses and begin to recognize the deeper emotional wounds that get triggered during conflict.
- Revisiting a Rocky Moment – This conversation offers a safe space to revisit past arguments, repair emotional wounds, and begin to rebuild trust and emotional security.
- Hold Me Tight – The centerpiece of the workshop: couples learn how to be more open, emotionally attuned, and deeply connected with one another.
- Forgiving Injuries – While past hurts may never fully disappear, this conversation helps couples integrate them into their relationship story as moments of healing. Learning how to talk about forgiveness strengthens their bond and fosters reconnection.
- Bonding Through Sex and Touch – Couples explore how emotional intimacy enhances physical intimacy, and how nurturing a satisfying sexual connection deepens emotional closeness.
- Keeping Your Love Alive – This final conversation invites couples to see love as an ongoing journey of connection and reconnection, encouraging mindful practices that help keep their bond strong over time.
